Nature's Top Champion!

At the young age of 14, Forrest Galante was the youngest person ever to lead a multi-national canoe safari down the Zambezi River. And this is just one of many examples of Galante's early adventures. Galante is truly passionate about education and helping people save our most valuable resource-our planet. His expertise with wildlife and his scientific background are assets to biological groups world-wide as he usually partners with local groups exploring remote regions. As a conservation expert, he strives to leave a positive, biological impact in every place he visits, whether searching for fresh-water turtles in Australia or big cats in Thailand.

In December 2013, Forrest Galante spent 21 grueling days in the Panamanian jungle as a participant on Discovery Channel's show 'Naked and Afraid.' He was considered the leader by the cast, and not only survived, but thrived. This was the public's first encounter to the naturalist Forrest Galante. He now hosts Animal Planet's top show 'Extinct or Alive,' where he uses his unique skill-set scouring for evidence that animals declared extinct may still be in the wild. Galante considers this the most detrimental television work he has ever been a part of, as it partners education with conservation and nature with exploration. It's his dedication to the wild aspects of the earth we live on that attracts us to this impressive individual.

Naturalist and Conservationist Forrest is Nature's Champion!

Forrest Galante is a name synonymous with nature conservation, wilderness survival and animal expertise. Growing up in Harare, Zimbabwe, Forrest harvested a deep love and strong connection with nature and animals that put him on his path in life. Galante's deep involvement with nature became deeper when he moved back to California after political unrest in Zimbabwe forced the family from their safari outfitters.

Throughout his life, Forrest Galante has caught crocodiles, swam with great white sharks, photographed venomous snakes, outsmarted a startled hippo, dodged a cyclone and had countless other adventures. He pursued a career in high-risk wildlife biology fieldwork, which focuses on animals staring down extinction. His hands-on approach with wildlife, love for nature and extraordinary background has led to the development of his own television program, 'Extinct or Alive,' on Animal Planet. The show shadows Galante as he travels the earth looking for wildlife he believes have wrongfully been deemed extinct.
